The Life of an Emo/Scene Fashion designer....

Designing clothing is a passion of mine. I love every part of it! But it isn't easy. Sure you might have great ideas and have them down on paper or as a drawing and looking great, but when it comes to making them physical, it can be a struggle, especially for those with not much money to spare.

I create almost every stencil I use, and spend hours designing the graphics I want to put on the clothing, save up money to buy the shirts and then spend more hours printing the T-shirts with fabric paint and a lot of determination. Sometimes though, I realize a design is beyond my ability to create with the tools I have currently. I want to do what Bleeding Star did, and Rockett Clothing, I want to make elaborate and beautiful art with the clothing I print. So, throughout the months you WILL see that. You WILL see custom patches and studs and more added to shirts. Hoodies will be introduced and have custom zips and hood prints. I want this to be another brand that represents the creativity and soul of Emo and Scene culture. I want this brand not to be a way of just making money (though as a neurodivergent person, it does help keep me going), but as a place people feel at home and feel seen. I want someone to put on a shirt they bought from Silent Scream Clothing and feel confident in how they look.

I also want it to push past the notion that clothing MUST be perfect in every way. Each print MUST look the same. I don't want that. I find that if a print is slightly different it means it was hand made, hand painted, and a human did this. A human created this art, not a machine. Because that's what art is. It's very human.

Anyway, I love this brand, it's given meaning to my life like no other thing has and I intend to keep it running for as long as I possibly can. No matter the struggle or the bad days, I'm proud I have made so many people happy, by just making something that makes ME happy too.
